Welcome. Relax. Unwind.
Situated at the edge of Hahei Village, The Church Accommodation offers 12 boutique cottages set amongst an acre and a half of lovingly maintained sub tropical gardens, giving each cottage its own sense of privacy and calm.
Our cottages are reminiscent of a bygone era, with high timber ceilings, polished wooden floors and leadlight windows throughout. All the timber furniture has been restored to bring out its natural beauty and adds to the charm and cosiness of The Church Accommodation.
We are walking distance to the white sands and safe swimming of Hahei Beach and the beginning of the trail to the world famous Cathedral Cove. The natural wonder of Hot Water Beach is just a short drive away. We provide free WIFI, beach towels and spades for digging your own hot pool at Hot Water Beach. In addition, we also have a guest lounge with a book and DVD library, SKY TV and guest BBQ. Continental Breakfast is also available and can be ordered from reception upon arrival.
Housed in the reconstructed church building that gives us our name, The Church Bistro is an independent, seasonal restaurant offering European-inspired evening dining. They offer a seasonal menu and changing blackboard specials, accompanied by an extensive and well curated wine list and superb service. Reservations are highly recommended.
We welcome you to relax and unwind in our little piece of paradise.
Timeless & beautiful accommodation
Hahei Beach is a Kiwi favourite. A long white sand beach fringed with pohutukawa trees, drifts of pink shells and brilliant turquoise waters.Just offshore the many small islands provide something of a breakwater, making this sheltered beach ideal for swimming and exploring by boat or kayak.
Cathedral Cove is an iconic limestone archway linking two small idyllic beaches, accessed by either a scenic coastal walkway offering breathtaking sea views, or by boat or kayak. Getting to Cathedral Cove by the water offers a completely different perspective of this stunning coastline, from the weathered volcanic cliffs to the varied wildlife within the Te Whanganui-a-Hei marine reserve.
One of the world's most renowned beaches - this is one experience that should be on your bucket list. At low tide, geothermal spring water makes its way to the surface of this golden sand beach and gives you the opportunity to dig yourself your own relaxing natural hot pool in a truly unique setting.

Beautiful, quiet & the perfect place to stay while in Hahei. We recently spent 2 nights there in the ‘house’ with our 2 young children & other family members. It is in a quiet and beautiful setting & the staff are helpful and friendly. The house has 3 bedrooms and was very comfortable and warm. The fire was set up for us each night which was amazing.
The accommodation was beautiful, comfortable beds, clean, welcoming and a lovely garden for breakfast. So close to the beach.
