Hahei - The perfect place to stay and explore the stunning Coromandel Peninsula.

  • Text Hover

Hahei, one of New Zealand’s most stunning beaches with pink sands and sheltered turquoise waters is home to the world famous Cathedral Cove with its magnificent rock archway joining two stunning white sand beaches. Cathedral Cove is accessed from Hahei Beach by a scenic coastal walk with breath taking views into the ‘Te Whanganui-A-Hei’ marine reserve . It is also accessible by guided kayak tour, boat tour or water taxi. The abundance of sea life and dramatic volcanic coastline make this region an excellent place for under and on sea adventures.

Hot Water Beach is one of New Zealand’s most famous natural geothermal wonders. At low tide a fresh water hot spring becomes accessible on the sands of Hot Water Beach. Grab one of our free spades and head out to dig yourself a hot pool and relax in a truly unique setting. If solitude is more your thing, you can enjoy a leisurely walk along this beautiful beach.

A little further afield are the beaches of Cooks Beach, Lonely Bay and Flaxmill Bay. Linked by an easy scenic bush walk around the prominent Shakespeare’s Cliff, they offer sheltered waters, fantastic views and the opportunity to get a bit further away from it all. If you’re looking for a full day adventure be sure to ask us about New Chums Beach, Coromandel town and the 309 waterfalls and Kauri Grove walk.
